I read a bit of the fic before I watched the show as a then-mutual was into it and gave me some recs, when I did finally watch the show I was very confused at the fanon version of Stiles who was nothing like his canon counterpart. It was wild seeing how a lot of the fanbase warped his character to fit a fandom mold.

This annoyed me so much when I was in that fandom. I think a large percentage of the writers just didn't watch the show and were writing whatever character tropes called to them and just remained blissfully blind of canon characterizations.

It was the first fandom I was in where so many people were upfront about never having watched the show.

Not OP but I’m sure all of their fans would feel terrible for them. But they of course have no way of knowing if there aren’t updates. And if fans have invested money into this, they are legally entitled to an update.
