I think, coming from fandom, we've been spoilt for choice when it comes to cozy fiction for years. I can understand book-only folks falling face first into the trend. It's massively popular in fandom for a reason.

UH... yeah, I didn't even think about that being a sexualised scene until now and I still don't see it. Wendy is also the older girl, right? She's around 12 years old if I remember correctly. That was a very "teen approaching puberty" thing to say.

I think Alien:Earth did a very solid job at non sexualising ANYONE. The shots are very tasteful and the outfits too are pretty "normal", both for men and women. Like, I see no overt difference between those gender representation in the series. And the kids are very much treated as kids and nothing else (I was very wary at this in the beginning and I'm quite happy with how they are dealing with them).
The only creep in the series is the boy wonder/Kavalier (and maybe Kirsh lol), but I don't read his creepiness as sexual at all.

I wonder if I'm missing something, though....

ALSO F!S ARE WE LINKING ALIEN:EARTH??? I'm liking it a lot! Sometimes it's kind of stupid, but I really really don't mind. It's in the limit of what I expect in an Alien IP and all the transhumanist stuff really gets me going. I pray that only good stuff happen to Slightly, please. Best TV show of 2025 for me so far.

I love Blackmore's Night and Loreena Mckennitt stuff. Top faves is Mandalay from the former, and The Lady of Shallot for the latter.
