Without fail, I find myself thinking that I and only I have access to the most compelling and true-to-the-text interpretation of whatever blorbo I hyperfixate on. I get a lot of mileage making fan works when I'm high on my own convictions, but it always passes and I always feel ashamed of myself after. Maybe I should seek help, but how do I explain it?

This movie is otherwise fine, it’s not great, it’s a little ridiculous but manages to be entertaining enough.

But good fucking Lord the kid character in it has to be one of the more annoying children in media I’ve seen in some time. I get that the mom wasn’t about to abandon her own kid, but I’d have fucking yeeted that child into the water after 5 minutes given that he couldn’t follow one single simple instruction.

Also everyone in this movie could hold their breaths for improbably long periods of time, it was hilarious.

The only time one of my favorite gamers on YouTube made a narrative choice that I disliked strongly enough to want to comment on, I wasn't able to. Because in the same video, she announced that she was engaged, and all the other thousands of comments she got were congratulations messages and nothing else. Not even a mention of anything about the game after giving their congratulations. So for me to break that chain and do it in order to disagree with the gaming choice she made would have made me look like a major asshole. She's happily married now, and I'm happy for her. But sometimes I still get to thinking bitterly... "Why did she have to announce it in that video?”

lol! Sometimes I'm curious and sometimes I'm like "no spoilers, self!"

Honestly lately I've been skimming it to see if I want to check the comm at all in the next few weeks. There hasn't been much going on in the GC and the secrets haven't been anything I have opinions or knowledge of so I end up skipping out often. But if there are some good ones I keep them in mind to at least scroll and check to see what's posted.

This seems like a kind of standard fandom experience, minus the shame. I wonder where the shame is coming from? Can you pinpoint why or is it more like a general low and shame filled mood.

The cycle sounds a little like my bipolar cycles. My bipolar is more low key and mostly internal. Like I don't do the "spending lots of money and making rash decisions" thing but my brain will be on highs of excitement and hyperfixation and then I'll hit lows where the same thing that was giving me joy is a thing my brain says is something I should probably kill myself about. Now that I know the signs and the patterns I have a little more tools and control to work with those negative shame spirals but it's still rough.
