First off, comparing people who dislike anime to racists smacks of...well, something akin to racism. Good job. :>

Second, I don't hate animation as a medium. (Anime is not a medium. Animation is a medium. /artist rant.) I don't like any style of anime I've ever seen (and I've seen a good range, considering fandom is full of anime fans positive they can convert anyone if only they can make them watch enough of it). Sorry. I like my animation to look like it's not missing every other frame.

So we disagree. So what? I don't feel "rabid" about it; I just don't like it, so I don't watch it, and I'm tired of still getting reactions like yours (close to racism? really?). So I posted in support of the OP.

I don't dismiss it as having nothing to offer-- obviously it has *something*, or it wouldn't have a following so aggressive to those who disagree (though that's a little frightening, itself). I just don't like looking at it, in the same way I prefer Degas to Pollack. It would just be nice to be able to say so without having my morals called into question (thus proving the OP's point, btw. Good job).
