I think it depends on the fandom, tbh. Take Gakuen Alice for example. I think I found.... two or three fics that didn't make me want to bash my head against a wall. Same with Card Captor Sakura. I found beautiful fics... and some fics that are so bad I want to scream.

Then again, it also depends on how long you have been in fandom, how many fics you have read and how old you are. Fics I loved 5 years ago would make me die of sheer embarrassment nowadays.
