"Brown Eyes" is reportedly about Luc Carl who broke her heart when she was younger and is also apparently the boyfriend who told her she'd never get any where.

They broke up because of this but she has named him as her "one true love". They reunited again late last year and they can often be seen out together (see: two nights ago with them both together in a bar in New York.)

This probably won't help but if she does attach bad memories to this song they're not bad any more.
