About 2-3 years ago, I got one of my relatives to download The Lion King so that his 6 year old son could watch it. I didn't know anything about The Morning Report, and so when I saw that scene I was... appalled I guess? Especially since this wasn't the version I wanted his kids to watch. It totally ruined the mood and made it WAY too silly.
But the 6 year old LOVED it. He loved singing along to it and to this day, I hear that 6 year old's voice more than I remember the original version.
All in all, even though part of my childhood is ruined by the new edition, I think younger kids appreciate that little moment of fun. The voice change still bugs me though. -___-
