It just doesn't make sense that they would even mention Rupert if they're issue is with Hermione/Ron.

Maybe if they thought Rupert was ugly or something and they're being shallow and saying "OMG casting him as Ron just ruined it cuz IDK why Hermione would EVER pick him!"

If that's what they mean, I'm facepalming. If not, then the secret just doesn't compute.
