And everyone kept one-upping Sherlock. John did it twice (with the diary, and with his phone), and Sarah did (with Soo Lin's help). Next to his wild leaps of deduction, that was just ODD.
That's another thing. HOW did they mistake John for Sherlock? I mean, sure. He had Sherlock's credit card and a cheque in his wallet. But he also had his wallet, with (I'm quite certain), his own ID, bank cards, and goodness knows what else. The fact that he was standing outside Soo Lin's flat, while someone was inside observing things should have been a bit of a give-away as well.
