I have an issue with Sherlock's characterization that doesn't really have to do with how he treats Mrs. Hudson on it's own. It's more like he's an ass and doesn't get called out on it, except for rare moments (sigh, I'm still sad that the potential from the pilot episode didn't carry over, his character feels really inconsistent to me).
It's more that he mistreats her within the bounds of the show and it's played off as a joke. John doesn't seem to treat her any better either. It's like there are no consequences for being an ass? But that happens a lot in the show.
Not that I don't actually like Sherlock (I thought Benedict was amazing) and I'm hoping they can fix stuff for next series, I just have objections to people saying you should ignore all the issues with the show because if they like it there can be nothing wrong with it? It's such crap.
