Why is it permissible--or at least, forgivable as if it were a minor character flaw--because he's an "artist?"

MOTHER. FUCKING. THIS.

Just because he is a good director doesn't mean anyone should get a free pass for supporting a child-rapist fugitive. And by choosing to work with him that is what these people are doing. They're basically saying that it's a-okay that he did something so despicably morally reprehensible, ran away from justice, and continues to flaunt the law...because he is good at what he does.
