Except you... kind of... can't? What do the shows have in common besides Nathan Fillion?

I really don't get why people compare shows that are nothing alike. I guess if you just want to argue certain aspects of writing being better than others? But even things like character and plot coherence vary according to genre - sci-fi is going to be more complex/confusing than romcom, mysteries might have more plot focus and less character focus than a psychological thriller, etc.
