Haven't you heard? Japan lost its originality in animation long ago D= So has every other genre on the face of earth! There are certain trends in Japanese art, just like in American art, an every art ever.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like for more variety in character designs, but there are some things that are cultural that one should accept. It's no more scary than lots of cartoon characters only having four fingers.
