Pinkie is not somehow deeply flawed even if she has a mental illness. That is an ableist attitude that is harmful to real people with mental illnesses. Diagnosing other real people is also harmful if you're not in any way trained to do so, but fictional characters are open to interpretation based on how they're shown in canon. I love Pinkie Pie even though she is almost certainly not neurotypical.
Of course happy and energetic does not automatically equal mental illness. I never said anything of the sort; in fact I specifically pointed out Party of One, the only episode where she wasn't. In that episode, she became so depressed that she was hallucinating. The cartoonists were clearly going for a "crazy" motif with the creepy music and weird eyes.
