1. P.S., I'm usually pretty good at separating the movie from the book and treating them like two separate things (except for V for Vendetta, which I flat-out refuse to like), but I really did think it was a bad movie in its own right. I wouldn't have been so upset if Miyazaki's plot didn't fall apart a third of the way through.

And then there's the little fangirl me who goes "WTF YOU CALL THAT AN ADAPTATION?!?1/! IF YOU'D GIVEN IT A DIFFERENT TITLE NOBODY WOULD HAVE EVEN NOTICED!!!!1!"
