It's one thing to spend money on something new. It's quite another to spend extraneous amounts of money on something new and turn around and bitch about how much you spent on it when you don't like it. If you want to spend $50 on a box set of a series you've never heard of, go ahead, but when you could've bought them one by one or second-hand for far cheaper, bitching about it makes you look like a moron.

Anybody who's concerned about how much they're spending on something new should do some research before purchasing anyway. That's just common sense.
