I do believe that the last creative team on the book, or at least one of the artists or something, totally shipped it. So it's possible it would have happened. Personally I think I prefer Karolina and Xavin. They had to go through so much together to get their relationship on even ground, and I'd hate for all of that to just be erased on a whim. Nico's romantic decisions in the past have been dubious but she was finally starting to mature when she got with Viktor. I will never forgive Whedon for breaking them up, I don't care who he is!
