i don't know anyone who writes m/m as ~art~. everyone i know who writes it either does so because: 1. they just like the pairing and want to explore it; or, more frequently, 2. to get their rocks off.

also, no one cares about fictional men being fictionally exploited in fanfic, or your man pain over it.
