I had an artist tell me once that she had a rather famous South American sculptor tell her that she would never be an artist until she just accepted that she was on her own without someone telling her that she was -- the sculptor had been written up in some art journal and she apparently was waiting for someone to do that for her before she'd feel like an artist -- After he told her that her entire outlook changed and I think as an artist that's one of the best things anyone's relayed back to me. I don't know who they are nor have I seen their art, but I will say that some of the artists who have negative secrets made about them probably should expect it. P.L. Nunn for example.
