As others have pointed out before me, crazed slashfen may be happy to pair the hell out of any two guys who talk, but this is what fandom does: they make relationships out of everything. Two guys who hate each other? Slash! Guy and a girl who are long-time friends? OTP!
And honey, believe you me, they have done it for far, far less likely pairings. I think the majority of the time, the one guy hasn't had wives leave him over his friendship with another man. Just saying that if you're shocked and outraged that people ship them, you should maybe find a fandom without that kind of slashfen bait right out in the open.
