PANFANDOM REC MEME

"I ship it!"
"I want fic!"
"I want art!"
"I don't care what it is, but I want it!"
"Where's the fandom?"

Rec meme! You ask for recs, and others provide (or fill!).

Maybe there's something you'd really like to see but you can't find it. Why not ask for help? It might be out there! Or maybe there's something you really loved reading and you want someone to geek over it with. Why not rec it to someone else? Maybe they'll love it too! Who knows, someone out there might be looking for something that sounds exactly like someone you know just created.

Don't feel bad about reccing your own stuff, either. Apparently someone else wants to see it, right?

OBLIGATORY TEXTBOX (optional, dont worry):

Regular post will be up soon!

Guys. Guys. Is there an All-Star Western fandom yet? Because there needs to be, it's the best thing to come out of DC's New 52. And also because Amadeus Arkham is officially Jonah Hex's wife and I need fic like breathing.

Also, Witch Doctor. Get at me.

Re: OT3s?

I do remember that with Ouran, which was the last anime series I was really a part of fandom for. I never got into Utena, though I should, since it gets rec'd a lot. Same with Duarara. Never heard of Mawaru Penguindrum or Chihayafuru, but I'll look them up!

I haven't played Persona 3, though it's been on my list.
The Nauto/Rise/Kanji OT3 intrigues me... I loved P4, but haven't seen that one.
I should also look for more threesome fic for SPN. It's been a while since I ventured into the fandom. And I don't know much about Criminal Minds (started watching reruns of it in the last month or so) but I'll take a look.

Thanks for all the recs!

Slash, femslash, and het are all groovy for me.

I'm really interested in reading a lot of these, so I'll be checking them out! Thank you for linking me to them!

And I'll look into White Collar. I didn't end up seeing any of the series, though I was interested in it... this may just be more motivation.

Awesome! I'll check out the comm and poke around AO3. I wanted to watch White Collar, but never got around to it, as I didn't have cable at the time it came out. I'll probably give it more of a look, now.

Awesome! Thanks for the link! Going on my to-read list.

I know some of the FFVII canon, since I had an ex really into it. The games all seem pretty ripe for OT3s+ with the multitude of characters. I'll definitely check it out!

Depends how heavy your kink is whether I'd care for it or not. Though for some reason I always found Tolkien fandom kind of intimidating, probably because my knowledge of the canon is from a long time ago and probably needs refreshing. :P

Re: OT3s?

[identity profile] darkangel-wings.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I've heard this one rec'd before, but haven't checked it out. I may have to now, thanks!

Darkfic

[identity profile] thinkatory.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Fandom: Harry Potter, Supernatural (and I could be convinced into crossovers or AUs)
Preferred Medium: Fic!
Preferred Genre: Gen, or shippy, but DARK.
Characters/Pairings: HP: So long as it doesn't involve Snape shipped with Harry, or anyone besides Lily (don't judge me), Sirius/Remus or Sirius/Regulus, or Harry/Hermione WITHOUT RON -- I'd love angsty OT3 Trio fic -- I'll read any pairings. SPN: Dean/Castiel and Sam/Lucifer are the only two non-canonical pairs I'd really want to read unless you really give me a good sell. XD
Anything else? Details? Is anyone else into torturey prisony fics or emotional torture stories that spare the protag no quarter? Sky's the limit on ratings. I'm a particular fan of Alistair, dark!Sam, Lucifer messing with Sam, whump!Dean, oh my god whump the hell out of Cas, Trio-era Death Eater fics, Fenrir Greyback, and Tom Riddle being his manipulative, incredible self. :D Anyone got anything leaping out at them?

WELL-WRITTEN STUFF PLEASE and if that makes me sound like an elitist I don't care, because awful, trainwrecky whump is no fun if it's totally OOC. Thanks dudes.

CAN I JUST SECOND THAT VIKTOR/FLIK RIGHT THERE.

I think I've managed to find a few bits and bobs in the past few years (delicious is down atm or I'd link you to some, le sigh), but I think we're a decade or so too late, anon D:

I know some of the FFVII canon, since I had an ex really into it.

LOL, same her. The b/f has played all the games, and I watched bits, but I only saw FFAC all the way through, and had to have the back story explained to me. I can still follow Feed the Rain, though, and if there is something I want to know, I email the author, as she's more than happy to explain.

Well, I basically wouldn't recommend my stuff anyhow :), I only mentioned it because those are the kind of relationships I would like to read more of, and rarely see in the fandom (the Tolkien one anyway) and I do write OT3's, 4's and mores, sometimes. :)

! ffgh, this is the only pairing I ship hardcore in HP, and I hope other people have some recs, but here are a few I liked (but if you've searched, you've probably found already):

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3678481/1/Tipping_the_bNymphae_b
^witty and comedic, it's lighthearted and nice.

^character studies are lovely.

Most of the others on ff.net are actually pretty good, too. (:

Star Trek has tons of OT3, especially Kirk/Spock/McCoy (holy trinity!), it's one of the fandom staples.

Re: OT3s?

[identity profile] darkangel-wings.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I had an ex gf who was super into it, though it didn't maintain my interest. I did see AC, and I know most of what happened in the game, so I can probably read the fic with minimal "TO WIKIPEDIA TO EXPLAIN THIS!"-ing.

I've written some OT3 stuff, but it's all old and one-shot-ish. I keep wanting to go out and write something epic, but I never seem to have the time or drive. :P

Good to know! For some reason I haven't delved much into the Star Trek (any gen) fandoms, but I really should. I think I recall hearing that there was some Kirk/Spock/Uhura from the reboot film, but also didn't wind up finding any of it. Thanks for the rec!

Seconding genfic, especially for Mycroft. I do love him so <3

Vorkosigan series by Lois Bujold. It's sci-fi! (Well, more like space drama, if you want to get pendantic.)

Now I'm not sure if this counts completely, but it's an aspect of the story I love to bits: the main character, Miles Vorkosigan, spent the majority of his childhood (unseen in the books) having a lot of difficulty walking, due to tetragenetic damage that make his bones brittle.

It's a sci fi novel, so he gets bone replacement therapies during childhood/young adulthood but he a) has stunted growth, so is quite short b) has a curved spine and c) there are times in the novel where certain yet un-replaced bones break. Very easily.

Later on he develops a seizure disorder.

Also he has some mental health issues? Most prominently he has a bit of trouble with a split personality during a few books, growing attached to a persona of his, and a spot or two of manic depression once in a while.

He is also the BAMFest BAMF who ever BAMFed, which is why I love these books so much. Adventures, getting the girl(s), action action action (the author has a tendency to never give it a rest, making the main almost perpetually in some really!difficult!situation! but I can forgive her, since her action is pretty awesome.) He uses his considerable intelligence (and slight unhingedness) to do fucking amazing things and aldkfjasl;dkfjwpeioj

I am literally incoherent with how much I love this series. It's varied (from mystery-type espionage plots involving a diplomat from an all-male planet looking for a disappeared shipment of ovaries, a POW camp story, government!corruption whoddunnit, romance, this is not a read-one-book-you've-read-them-all author.)

Phoenix Wright (?)

(Anonymous) 2011-12-11 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I know it's an old fandom, and it's in this sort of statis of dying/alive, but does anyone have any good femmeslash recs for this? :/ I've looked through the delicious accounts and such, but I like the old(er) pairings more.

Fandom: Phoenix Wright
Preferred Medium: Anything
Preferred Genre: gen, romance, humor/crack
Characters/Pairings: Mia/Lana, Lana/Ema, Franziska/Adrian, Ema/Franziska, ANYTHING.
Anything else? Details?
I have utterly nothing against Kaye or any of the newer games, just, the first and second game will always be the closest to my heart. Especially Rise From the Ashes.

The ones I've already read.

First, second, third, fourth, seventh, eigth, and ninth. Thanks for trying anyway.

Haven't read the fifth or sixth before! Thanks for the rec. [goes to read]
