In what way is Natasha "obviously gay"?

I get the feeling people who say stuff like this just forget that their fanfiction isn't the comics/movie or something.

When I got here tonight, I thought, "Somebody must have made a doozy of a secret," because the comments are already over 1,000. And now I see why.

You are clearly an asshole of epic proportions.

Where's Black Widow? Does she not figure into your little slashy wankfest? So sorry the movie had a girl in it. I know how disappointing that must have been for you. Especially an awesome, ass-kicking girl with chemistry with every single one of her teammates. Maybe Thor is fucking her instead of his "brother." *gasp* Or maybe Bruce is holding her tightly instead of sucking Stark's dick on the top of ruined tower. *gulp*

Please stop making the rest of us who don't think liking slash means you get rid of the ladies look like jerks.

Sorry, I just don't agree. Already in the first six episodes Yuki has grown INCREDIBLY and Natsuki has changed quite a bit. Sure, the "main" plot finally came out of no where, but it was really obvious it was coming and what the series focused on was tons of fun and very interesting (IMO). I am absolutely loving it, it's fun, I like every character, the colors are fun, interesting, and bright. Plus it is making fishing, something that I lost interest in ages ago, interesting to me again!

But to each their own!!

There is something kinda inherently gay porn about those outfits, isn't there. (I mentioned this to my [gay, Jewish] roommate last week and he agreed.) But, I mean, just the fictional ones, right? :\

No one is asking you to jump for joy.

It's one thing to mention that you prefer detailed feed back (which you might not get form a review - it could just be "I liked it!"), but making a secret about how the people at FF.Net ~don't understand~ how fav's aren't the same as reviews comes off as obnoxious.

Optimus is a terrible bot who won't forgive Megsy

...................Making characters actually aware of what's going on is a sin now? *headdesk*

Stats teacher to the rescue not because I think you actually wanted to know, just because I taught this lesson last week:

Assuming the 1-in-5 probability in the secret is correct and that the 5 guys in the secret were selected randomly (neither of which is true, but let's roll with it):
Probability that none of them are gay = 32.768%
Probability that exactly one of them is gay = 40.96%
Probability that more than one of them is gay = 26.272%
Probability that all five of them are gay = 0.032%

Going with the more supported 1-in-20 statistic but still pretending they were chosen randomly:
None = 77.378%
One = 20.263%
More than one = 2.259%
All five = 0.00003125%

Binomial probability distributions FTW!

They only have 12 episodes to convey the whole season's story and character development. If the seasons could have more episodes to it I would agree, but I can look past the rushing because it's either that or cutting out character development to make room for the plot pacing. I've seen a few fans saying that they like that issues get wrapped up so quickly- like the love triangle and the supposed misunderstanding with Asami's dad- rather than drawing it out in a way that's painfully overdone in media

Ah, np! Erm, I hope this isn't too weird, but from your LJ page, I'm assuming you're in Italy... If you don't already know, there's an ongoing Italian translation of Cerebus through publisher Black Velvet (though I get it if it's a personal preference to read it untranslated or the translations are very slow). Jaka's Story was, for me, an amazing comic, so it's good to hear that earlier volumes are enjoyable as well. :)

So cute!

My sister-in-law actually had a bat (North American regular bat LOL) land on her leg in a house we rented up North, and I was shocked at how tiny it was when it landed on her leg. Wings extended it seemed huge, but then it was teeny tiny with its wing all folded.

I'm glad your cousin's trip is working out. I will keep this in mind when planning my trip. Thank you!

Did somebody just use "SPN" and "quality" in the same sentence? *dies*

Hide and seek spider. Heeeeeee.

I would think that a kudos was more than "didn't dislike it" - more like "I liked it". Do people actually leave kudos on works they felt totally neutral about? I would have thought that a kudo was a strictly positive response, not just a non-negative.

WELL going to DW as an adult still IS a dream vacation for me, even if it's not the NUMBER ONE DREAMIEST VACATION EVER because it's not like, a world tour of all seven continents (SOMEDAY).

(Yeah well, I've been to a lot of that. And I plan on doing more in the future. I love the great outdoors myself, but to be fair not everyone is interested in that type of vacation.)

(Anonymous) 2012-05-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
SO MUCH THIS. I still get the occasional review on a fic I wrote five years ago, and it never fails to make me smile. I'm thrilled that people still think the story is worth reading even though it's ancient by internet standards!

[identity profile] lovelycudy.livejournal.com 2012-05-21 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I was wondering if I missed something, because she seemed very into Hawkeye. Possibly bi, but not obviously gay.

[identity profile] stalker-anon.livejournal.com 2012-05-21 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
ahah thanks! My dreams tend to be really plotty.
No fic, unfortunately, I'm not nearly comfortable enough with english (or even just writing) for that. (But if I inspired anyone, I want to see that!)

(Anonymous) 2012-05-21 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
1, i'm not the op. 2, the above was my only reply on this thread until now. i think maybe you misunderstand easily.

[identity profile] streetcake.livejournal.com 2012-05-21 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be fine with this secret if Black Widow were in the pic. :\ Your friends may just assume you're a slasher if all you want to talk about is all the guys being gay, which may not be their thing.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

This is now my canon.

Oh, totally! :)

And if Daisy, Rose, and Onslo supper crash, all the better.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, aren't you a bit over-heated about this? I don't think Scarlet had chemistry with everyone and she was a pretty standard powergurrl. Nothing special. So what if the OP didn't include Black Widow?

[identity profile] anonlulz.livejournal.com 2012-05-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
The older big fandoms have the annoying tendency to have "specialized" archives. A lot of decent fanfics can be found outside FF.Net.

I don't bother, because I don't like to go around signing up for 1000 websites, when I could Fav and Review stories in ONE website. But, if you're looking for quality, it's an option.

Never mind that some archives tend to die (because, fans suddenly discover that running a fanfic archive is EXPENSIVE!), taking down fanfics that can't be found anywhere else. God forbid if the author sinks to the level of the common folk at FF.Net!

[identity profile] urplesquirrel.livejournal.com 2012-05-21 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
No one is asking you to jump for joy.

The comments to this post all seem to be saying otherwise. Not all feedback is equal, and I do get disappointed when I get a fave with no review. I'm allowed to feel that way, and so are other authors. And you know what? I think we should be allowed to complain about it when you get 20+ people favoriting your fic but only two of them bothered to review it without being accused of being obnoxious, entitled douches. Because it's FRUSTRATING sometimes. If twenty people consider it one of their favorite stories, why can't more of them take the time to say something, anything to us about it? No, they're not required to. But dammit, we're allowed to wish they would!
