I'm in the UK and I saw it! And was pleasantly surprised at how good it was!

The only reason my friends and I went to see it though because we had all read the books after one of us spent a lot of time in New Zealand when we were teenagers. Otherwise I know I would have totally written it off (advertising was non-existent). :(

It's a shame though. I would have looked forward to a sequel.
