Glad to hear that the movie/fandom has helped you. I haven't seen the movie, but from what I've heard (through friends) Once-ler wasn't supposed to be a terrible person, even if he's done terrible things. He has some major flaws, but it makes him relate-able.

As a side note, I may try something similar to this the next time I want to hurt myself, to see if it helps. Thanks for the idea, OP.
