This bugs me a lot. That the icon makers don't credit the original source, I mean.

If I see an icon with cute fanart, I want to know who the fanartist is, not who cropped the icon.

Although sometimes they do some really gorgeous graphical design (textures, de/saturation, illumination tricks, artsy words), that's something different.
