I think she was deliberately ambiguous in many of those little details, which is frustrating for trivia/canon-purists fans, but perhaps better in the long run for avoiding traumatizing children or young-teenagers reading, and again, it's not like we can't come away with our own conclusions via extrapolation and comparison with real life, and there is something to be said for authors who leave just enough room for interpretation (in general, I mean) for their fans to fill in and wonder. c:
