The primary definition of the word is: of or pertaining to this world or earth as contrasted with heaven. So, primarily, something mundane is just something earthy or realistic, something not fantastic.
It's commonly used by some SF/F fans to mark the difference between what they like and what everyone else seems to think they should like.
So get over yourselves. I'm not interested in insulting people who watch a show like Breaking Bad, though I'm not a bit surprised that some of them would insult what I like.
I'm also aware of fandom tropes. And I agree that it feeds Loki's popularity. And if the creators of BB want their fans to "really and truly hate" their main character, then - apparently - they're doing a good job. And the OP is either a troll or doesn't watch the show or both.
