I thought the '40s haircut and the ridiculous '40s clothes just added to his charm. But it may not be because it made him hotter, it may just make him more adorable and made me want to give him a hug because he stuck out like a sore thumb looking so out-of-place and old-fashioned, and because you gotta wonder what kind of a mess his mindstate was like if he was still insisting on wearing his clothes and hair exactly like the '40s :(
