Honestly, I'm the same way. I think it's mostly because I cringe at how unrealistic the sex is, though.

Also, have you ever heard of "shipping bed death?" It's where people lose interest in a couple after the "will they or won't they?" stops and they just become a couple. There are examples on tvtropes.org if you're interested.
