Oh man, I totally forgot about Kaidan. He's just such a non-entity if you don't romance him.
I honestly don't know how a Liara fan could complain--she's easily the most preferred and exposed love interest.
But, yeah, I was not happy with how Thane's romance turned out. I was not happy that Shepard and Thane basically treat each other as friends (not to mention you can actually tell where the friendship/love lines are being sewn together), how he has very little relevance to the plot, and I really wish they didn't have Kirrahe has a back-up for Thane. I think that really cheapened his death.
Not to mention the game treats it as if you had no love interest at the end of the game. Kaidan was hitting on the Shepard (since I romanced him in ME1), and there was no option to tell him "sorry, my boyfriend just died, lay off".
Not to mention the game treats it as cheating on him. Ugh.
