Again this only works if the ponies are analogues for human races, which they aren't. In a fantasy land where magic is capable of swapping species and races and their leaders are basically demi-gods, any correllation to real life falls apart. Your basically making the case that fantasy can only be analogous to humans and thus anything that can be extrapolated to a human counterpart must be and ultimately you've just destroyed many forms on fantasy and sci-fi species with that thinking.
Ultimately, it falls into the fact that you are massively over-thinking it to the point where suspension of disbelief becomes meaningless and the ponies are absolute analogues to humans, which they aren't by any stretch of the imagination.
