15. The manga rocks so hard~ For a while I was borrowing the volumes. Haven't finished though. Got up to vol. 4. D:
28. I totally saw this one coming. Srsly. Eh, I look this way: A good 45% of the anime/gaming/RPG secrets here are from anime/games that I've a) never heard of or b) couldn't give a care about. And I like anime/manga. Quite enjoy it. (I mean, that's why we have a "Name that Fandom" comment post; anime is such a broad area of the interwebbernets that you don't hear about a lot of shows that have already gotten an audience for it FOR A YEAR.)
Now the wording(oh snap here we go), yeah, it could be better. However, I know I have said things that could have been better said but when I get caught up in the moment well...it just doesn't matter. I said it and can't really take it back other than apology. (Sometimes you don't want to apologize though; you meant what you said so why take it back?)
My problem is that I've gotten heckling from BOTH sides: those who obsess over anime and those who utterly despise it. That's why the last comment kinda dug in. Because I think anime is great, though not the greatest. Because anime isn't a huge ass blanket that every fan of it sleeps peacefully under. It was the "yes, we exist" part that got me the most. Of course there's a lot of non-anime/anti-fans out there. For every like, there's most likely dislike. Duh.
But why are people so sensitive about this? Who knows? Maybe a lot of people here have encountered the opposite of your case: people who think anime is the worst thing since root canals. Maybe that's why some were offended. *hunches shoulders*
All we can really do is spread the word if we want more diversity. I know I've kept telling non-animu folks about this comm, to the point of them wanting me to shut up about it.
