In regards to 39, I think you're sort of right. the problem here is that you're implying that a certain type of person tends to be drawn to fandom, so to speak. And that might upset people, though I don't disagree.

I'm into some nerdy shit (including cosplay), and I'm big into fandom. But I'm, personally, willing to take the slings and arrows from people completely unfamiliar with the subculture in stride. Though I don't think that means I'm an entirely secure person (though I try).

I think I'm rambling now. Haha. I don't know, maybe it's just easier to take a much stronger, "I'm right, you're wrong" stance on things on the internet, because you don't have to talk to people face to face. It's easier to type to a screen that someone should go "Die In A Fire" than it is to seriously tell someone that in person.

Imagine if people really acted in every day life how they do online in fandom? Heaven forbid.
