I request the highest of fives, anon.

If you're hobby is bothering other people about their hobbies, then you're an asshat and need to find a new hobby.

You're right to enjoy yourself how you please doesn't extend into asshat behavior.

Re: So what IS the best place to find good female characters?

[personal profile] blunderbuss 2013-07-08 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
It can be BETTER, but you'll be surprised about how many writers, even female ones, will happily regurgitate the same problems in eastern and western media. Sometimes anime-style webcomics can actually be even worse than some anime when it comes to female characters - Teahouse is a brilliant and horrifying example.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-08 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they just don't want to know you - you don't sound like someone I want to know.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-08 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
What the fuck are you talking about? None of what you said applies to what I said.

You aren't owed friendship. If someone doesn't want to be your friend then they don't have to be your friend.

You get to feel however you want to about that, but that doesn't change the fact that no one owes you their friendship.

Crossing fandoms over with Homestuck is an addiction. :( Help I've fallen and I can't get up. (I'm mentally doing this with Arrested Development right now, for crying out loud.)

Mostly because choosing classpects is a fun logic and characterization puzzle, and when you've got the classpects chosen you can't help but wonder what a session with these people would be like, and soon and so forth. And I guess the people who make characters into trolls enjoy making designs, assigning powers/blood colours and figuring out troll romance.

I guess any fandom with a well-defined system for sorting characters is fun to crossover with. Harry Potter being the biggest example, I guess.

The person I was responding too wasn't saying they were disappointed that someone moved on - they were implying that it was *wrong* of them to move on - which is bullshit.

This is Milliard "Millie" Peacecraft.

We adopted him ~3 years ago from the local animal rescue that we were volunteering for at the time. He spent a winter in the millyard near the local college campus, so they named him "Milliard" - Millie for short. We added the "Peacecraft" because we were watching Gundam Wing at the time.

(No, he is nothing like his namesake.)

Thanks - yeah, that part was pretty confusing, death being sad even though the person had been a jackhole to the whole family. It was a couple of years ago now, so I'm mostly past the emotional confusion side of it and into the 'benefiting from how massively unfair and fucked up our entire economic system is' part.

Time zones. Not all of us get back from work/school at the same time.

There's no dissent here either. Everyone pretty much agrees that you're an asshole.

Link?

I could use some inspiration.

Yeah...I'm not a quiet or uncomplaining individual, but I tend to react to adversity with either aggression or emotional shutdowns, rather than sending out whatever the hell the 'please take care of me' signs are.

I'm straight! No, wait, I'm bisexual! No, wait, I'm probably a lesbian. No, wait, I'm a dude and I like dudes. /ends up with a nonbinary partner. Welp.

(my life regarding dating/crushes has been very strange)

Maybe try baby shampoo? It may be cheaper than animal shampoos.

Re: STOCKING UP

(Anonymous) 2013-07-08 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Local stores here seem to stock Kashi Dark Mocha Almond granola bars randomly, so whenever they have them, I buy two or three boxes. Also, white cornmeal, which is never stocked as heavily as yellow cornmeal or cornbread mix (which is gross.)

My friend kind of went through that, because her partner is genderfluid, so she isn't really sure what that means for her in terms of orientation. She eventually settled on "mypartnersexual" as I like to call it.

I am remarkably picky about it, despite it being a major turn-on when done well (both in fic and in RL). An awful lot of it seems to be about - not quite sure what the correct term is, but role-playing in the broad sense? Finding a sexual/romantic stereotype and playing it up? And that doesn't do a damn thing for me. But one partner telling what he/she/zie is feeling during sex play (either emoting or sensing) to another is quite hot.

Creepypasta is usually considered a fandom! Especially considering how much art and stuff there is of Slenderman and other popular characters from creepypasta.

Awww, he's so cute! (And I admit when I see Millie I think Trigun. XD)

Also, kind of jealous of the collar, I can't get either of mine to wear one. Jake does NOT like anything touching the back of his neck, and Leela always tries to take it off and then it gets stuck in her mouth and she freaks out. :/

Star Wars

(Anonymous) 2013-07-08 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Need Han Solo/Lando Clarissian fic please please please. Preferably with smut.

(Anonymous) 2013-07-08 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, that's essentially what my partner is, too :P

I myself just break up my sexuality into different components: I find men physically attractive, but my preferred dating pool is pretty much limited to other female-bodied trans folks. I call it a very narrow definition of homosexuality.

Oh man, if my last name was Bishop or if I marry someone name Bishop, I think I'll HAVE to name a daughter Kate. Actually, I've decided that if I ever self-publish any of my writing, Kate will be the first name of my pseudonym. :)

You totally should! Not many people recognized what I was doing, but the cover of Hawkeye #9 is REALLY easy. I just bought the "I <3 Hawkeye" shirt (off of welovefine), a black wig (cheap on Ebay), wore a black long-sleeved shirt under that shirt, and I got red aviator sunglasses for cheap, as well. I also wore purple converse (in honor of Clint). But all in all I probably only spent ~$40 on this cosplay, and it was fun for a couple of people to call me Kate <3

That part where your high school sweetheart broke up with you so you wouldn't follow him to the college you both got into instead of your first choice, so you go to your first choice school and get involved with a cute nerdy son of a millionaire, then your high school sweetheart decides it was all a mistake and he wants you back, but you point out you've moved on, then the cute rich nerd turns into a physically and emotionally abusive mass of neuroses but you stick with him because stand by your man, that's why, even when a poor but emotionally supportive white knight turns up to "rescue" you, but no, you stick with the abusive guy because he needs you, right up until the night he accuses you of sleeping with the white knight behind his back and tries to strangle you, when you dump his ass and move out (and eventually get into a relationship with the white knight on more equal terms).
