Oh, it's basically cannon to me, too. In fact, I have a tendency of writing Harry Potter fanfiction and slippin in SBP cannon without even thinking. XD;
Before the Shoebox Project, I never really understood Remus/Sirius fans, and I never got upset about James or Lily, you know, it was just like, "Eh, dead parents, orphan kid, cry me a river." But afterwards? Any mention of the Potters or back-in-the-day marauders made me SOB, and Sirius's death in the fifth book just got that much more meaningful.
Oh, and the scene with them in the seventh book? Yeah. I lost my mind. (Or as much of it was left after the death of Fred Weasley. :/)
