If writing is very personal for you then no, you shouldn't be publishing your stuff anywhere. And it isn't an issue of "everyone out there is mean" it's the fact that you clearly don't have enough confidence in your writing yet. No one is forbidding you from rping, except your own hangups about what writing is to you. So instead you should look into why you feel is personal and into how you can turn that into a positive thing.
