32: I ♥ you. Seriously. The manga is so much better than the anime, and I'm much the same way as yourself.
Also, as a note to anyone unfamiliar with the fandom who's throwing a fit over supposed elitism: the anime was made first as a project loosely based on the first two books to see if there was enough interest to actually pay Nightow for the story. Those of us who claim the manga is better are NOT engaging in an act of elitist bashing of the anime, we're simply wanting people to discover the actual story, since it's a lot deeper than the anime would seem.
I know I don't view anime fans as bad or lesser, but I DO see people who've only seen the anime and base their characterization/make their judgments on it alone much like someone who reads the advance for a book, decides the advance is the best evah!!!11/teh suck and refuses to read beyond it, or much like fans of, say, Lord of the Rings find movie-only fans to often not get the meaningfulness of the books.
