I cringe a bit when people self-rec because it's hard not to do it without sounding obnoxious or insincerely modest. It's one thing if people are asking for a fic that fits something you wrote, but reccing yourself out of the blue? Ugh.

I never read people who do that because I suspect their fic won't be very good.
