23. I could actually go into a discussion on the theories of crime and punishment used in Phoenix Wright. From what I've gathered, they seem to use the neoclassical theory in PW crime and punishment.

That link has a decent discription of classical and neoclassical.
Unfortunately the punishment system for those using classical and neoclassical crime theory was normally pretty harsh, as they never took the criminal's mental state/other circumstances (like being forced into doing something) when committing the crime into account.
