I don't know if I would ship them (grumpy old men do need love, but I have enough problems writing teenage pairings), but I think your idea would lead to some great fic, and I could definitely see a relationship between them. If you've got any written, I'd be interested.

There's got to be some communities out there. Maybe you could present it as a crack pairing and see if anyone latches on. Or, hell, just come out with it. There's bound to be someone (well, other than me) who could see it happening.
