The thing that freaked me out had more to do with the fact that I went through something extremely similar two years ago. But I was only on cusp of entering fandom then, and I'm still in it now, more so than ever, so yeah, it is about getting help when you need it and taking charge of stuff in your life. I can't imagine not being in fandom now, in spite of everything.
