well, it implies that the individual James was totally replaceable to her. idk if she honoured his death, but it doesn't sound like it.
if she didn't care, it shows that people's well-being only concern her as long as they have a benefit to her. their own existence/experience (i.e death) wouldn't matter if they don't impact her.

Except they're candy. I wouldn't exactly say they can die.

He died. Well, he became a zombie. But that's even worse.

They die. You can revive them under certain circumstances, but they definitely can experience death.

Except she DID honor his death by holding a massive ceremony honoring how brave James was when they got back.

And the situation was a little more complicated than that, the four of them were trapped and surrounded by zombies and they were ALL going to die unless someone sacrificed themselves. She didn't just off James for the hell of it.
