Yes, they are candy people, that doesn't mean that they stop being people. The Lemonpeople are just lemons, but Lemongrab enslaving, abusing and murdering them was wrong.

They are a different species with a different kind of morality and way of thinking. Applying 100% human morality to them is like asking why a lion kills antelope when it has a family.

Do you realize I'm applying the show's morality, don't you? For god's sake, they had two episodes two episodes about this topic, how Lemongrab was a tyrant and Lemonhope had to free his people.

Lemongrab was a tyrant because he did everything for himself without caring about the interests of his people, therefore the kingdom was unstable and the people were unhappy. The Candy Kingdom, on the other hand, is stable and its people are happy. PB commits her worst offenses with her kingdom's best interest in mind, making her a morally questionable person -- if you want to say evil, go ahead -- but not in the same way as Lemongrab and not by definition a tyrant.

All canon and within the show's morality.
