Haha, seriously. FFVII wasn't even the first Final Fantasy I fell in love with; I actually didn't even beat the whole game OR get into the fandom until after I played FFX. So it's not the nostalgia that keeps me coming back for more... o_O It's the fact that I ENJOY it.

But heaven forbid I have my own opinion! :O

Final Fantasy 7 did suck, though. It ain't the worse, but it sucked in comparison to most of the other games (especially its predecessor). Have fun playing it. :|

The best and most reliable way to prove how hardcore you are in any debate about video games is to casually mention how good Final Fantasy VI is. Even implying that you've played FFVI in the first place is enough. If you are invoking the holy specter of FFVI in order to put down FFVII, even better! Add over nine thousand pwn points to your "geek street cred" score card. Now everyone knows what an old school gamer you are!

(Myself, I'm just starting to play FFVI for the first time and I'm embarrassed to tell anyone, because I should have played it long ago. I'm 25! Well better late than never. And you can count on me to not invoke VI to put down VII because, well, I love all FF games. Arguing about the "better" story or characters makes my eyes gloss over.)

It may have not had have had the best story but I have played much worst. I like it just fine, and I played it for the first time when I was 18 thank you very much :P. Also I never have been a part of the internet fandom for it, so to say that I like it just becuase of other people is wrong on all counts :)

I agree with you honestly. I played the game back in 1992 and I failed hardcore at video games but I still adored the storyline, every bit of it.

And all I have to say about secret up there is everybody I know that replays the game, still loves it. It's just that person's personal opinion/attack on the game, and I know some people do agree, but not everyone does, obviously. DX

I don't think it's the best game ever, no, but it was and still is quite awesome.

And actually I must correct myself. It was the characters I loved, not the story.
