I played the game, and it was boring. It was campy and cliche and there wasn't anything great about it.

And now all I can see are people who are running around bitching about how horrible the sequels are. And I played them and you know they're really no worse than the original. At least they look better. But people just want to bitch because they forgot how bad the original was, and so now when they play the new ones, they can't match their fake memories of the PERFECT GAME!!!!!!1one

Most of the bitching I've seen from fandom is about Advent Children.

Gamers bitch about Dirge of Cerberus because the gameplay was kind of like.. broken.. At points. I could understand people complaining about that. I mean, as far as an RPG goes.. Really not much to mess up with the gameplay.

A part of all of the bitching may just be that.. Follow-ups and sequels destroy the nature of Final Fantasy. It had been that way for a long time, that, once the game is done.. That's it. That's the story. Most of those games didn't really need to be extended, and it's Square's way of milking our love for something.. (Because regardless of how much any of those games may or may not butcher the series.. Our butts are gonna be buying them cause we love the source material.)

And I disagree that VII was bad. It was good for it's time. Not all games age as well as others. (Why do you think most of the TTLY HXC fans are crying for that PS3 remake?) It seems bad now because.. Look at what it's up against! 10 years of advancement, and two new generations of game systems.. I wonder how much better games in 10 years will look compared to Dirge of Cerberus, etc?
