I love epic-y opening numbers...Frozen HEart, Deliver Us, Circle of Life...I know there's others but it's not coming to mind lol.

It's hard to cover something sung by a chorus though, and that's what makes the song so good!

Hell yes Deliver Us. Hell yes that entire soundtrack, really.

Other big opening songs that come to mind: The Bells of Notre Dame, He Lives In You, No One Mourns the Wicked (not a movie, granted), The Gospel Truth.

Prince of Egypt, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Wicked...all Stephen Schwarz, if I remember correctly.

Man does good shivery impressive numbers.

(It's a toss-up on "Deliver Us" and "Bells of Notre Dame" for my favorite, though. Both are phenomenal, but "Bells" has that high note...)
