I hate to be that person, BUT KEEP GOING. Pretty much all first seasons are iffy, and Farscape is no exception. I promise it's worth it. If you like dark sci-fi with great, complex characters then you will like Farscape.

I looooove dark sci-fi with complex characters, so I keep meaning to try it again. I need to something to watch while I wind yarn, so maybe I'll put it on later. Is there a good point in the second half of season 1 to pick up at or should I just pick whatever sounds most interesting?

Honestly, just start from where you left off. The finale of season 1 is where it starts getting darker, and all the episodes in season one are good for at least introducing you to important characters or helping you learn the personality of the main characters. I'd recommend just starting where you left off. (And then talk to me about your reactions, because Farscape is one of my favorite shows and I love reading people's reactions to things.)

Okay, thanks! I'm not that far from the end of the season, so I can try to remember to post about it when I'm done watching.

And I'm, uh, totally the person who liked the first season better (though I did like Scorpius). I felt in the later seasons had so many character switch-offs I got confused as to who was who. And while John/Aeryn was awesome, D'argo/Chiana was creepy and skeeved me out as a concept even before where they ended up going with the ship.

I do like the show, but I like some parts (and characters) better than others and I actually really loved the first season.

I liked the first season too, actually. But, if OP is wanting to get to the heavier story arcs, then they need to get to through the first season.

Oh totally. Just that for me personally the character thing threw me. I get Zaan having to leave because of the actress' allergy to the blue paint. But why did the start switching the main characters around so much?

I was confused as to what you meant by character switching at first, lol. The changes in cast never really bothered me, so I don't really have anything to say about it. Sorry! I just wished Stark was on more because I loved him.
