I find it weird to give people flack for not liking things. I just personally feel bad for people who don't like chocolate or can't eat it because of the mental effects. But then again, I was basically self-medicating my undiagnosed depression as a child with chocolate, so I'm slightly biased about the stuff.

I've gotten a lot of "WHAT? WHYYYYYYYYYY" when I say that I hate apple pie. My palate prefers savoury to sweet stuff anyway, so most sugary things that people love, I could take or leave them. I've also gotten staunch olive-haters wrinkling their noses at me when they find out how much I love olives. People take food tastes very seriously.

I like good apple pie, but I wouldn't say its my favorite pie by any means. Give me a strawberry rubarb one, a peach one, a blueberry one, or a cherry one and I'm happy. That being said, I'll take pie over cake any day.

Yes, people are weird about tastes. Especially if you dislike something they consider "normal," which has problems of its own since normal is going to vary by culture and even individual family.
