Another dog update!

First off, thanks again to everyone who wished my dog well in his recovery! It's kind of nice how one front f!s can be united on is caring about animals. ♥ Anyway, for those who missed this, last week my dog Jig dug out of the yard and somehow managed to get a hole ripped through the side of his peepers and into his abdomen during the course of his adventure. Luckily, nothing vital was damaged, and he was able to come home from the vet's the next day. The morning after that, however, I awoke to find that he'd torn out all of his stitches, so back to the vet he went. She was able to repair the additional damage, but now he has to wear the Cone of Shame and, when not being supervised, stay in his kennel. He's not happy about that, but I've been making the extra effort to spoil him a bit and keep his spirits up. He's doing much better now, and seems to be feeling well enough to play up his situation to his advantage whenever he wants attention and/or treats. He's always had a flair for the dramatic, and is really, really good at looking pitiful.

So, yeah. Despite some setbacks, Jig is on the road to recovery.

Damn dogs, bein' all precious and adorable while they find new and spectacular ways to injure themselves and make us worry. Glad he's recovering.

He's a little shit, that's for sure! He's so lucky he's cute and cuddly and silly and photogenic and endearingly stupid.

I may have lost a few years of my life to the initial panic, yes, but fortunately my vet is awesome and Jig's recovering quickly. I wish some of my own doctors were as competent as her!

Aw. Now I want to watch Up again. Best part of that movie was the dogs.
