I thought they meant they misread it. or mis-brained it, whichever. not that they thought the animal that is an otter is actually an oyster. though it's also possible they simply hadn't heard of otters before. *shrug*

Oh, I think I expressed myself badly. I wanted to speak of the word more than the actual animal.

Although you're right, there are probably places where otters are less known!
